| Closer to home, and I suspect more involvement in the coaching side as well. Fair play to him, he's leaving us in a vastly improved position to what he's found us.
Key now is for us to keep the professionalism that he brought in. Chester acted as a good barrier between the coach and squad and the volatility/chaos/passion (whichever word suits your view) of the owner. We need somebody to come in and maintain that.

| Good luck Chezzy. Never have I seen a Rugby League management team able to operate without any major criticism from it's fanbase. Chezzy came to Leigh after a torrid time at his hometown of Wakefield, online violence directed at his family and Trinity fans would continue to blame him for their demise longer after he had left the building.
At Leigh he embarked on a new challenge that of Director of Rugby, starting with a decimated team and no manager. His greatest signing would prove to be one of his first, with the appointment of Adrian Lam. Lammy snr's signing was far from straightforward and required careful persuading to get an ex-manager from Wigan to step down a league. Lammy is ambitious and has never hidden a desire to be tested in the NRL, but having a club moulded in his own image keeps Lammy happy and signing extensions.
Chezzy has provided a buffer between Deggsy and Lammy and the wheels have continued to turn without too many issues. The signings have largely been a huge hit, especially the overseas contingent. As outsiders we will never know the full extent of Chezzy's influence on the signings, but it is fair to say that between Lammy and Chezzy they have done a marvellous job.
Chezzy never moved from Wakefield and after 3 and half years, the commute probably caught up with him. The rumours suggest a move to Castleford in the near future would be just the tonic.
As for the Leopards, they will need a similar candidate to fill the role of Director of Rugby. The ideal candidate needs to be able to work with Lammy, have an eye for talent and be able to provide a buffer between Deggsy and Lammy. Off the top of my head no such person exists, only time will tell.
