tried to use the websites like comparethemarket for a ford 1.2 ztec and the robbing @r5eh0les want £2500

Whats the value of the Ford? Is it modified in any way? A cars value has a big impact on how much your insurance will cost. When i first passed my test i had a Mk2 Golf that cost me £1300 TPFT to insure it then went up even more when i told them it had alloys and i £1000 of stereo in the back  the first few years are killers but 10 years on it still feels like your paying too much even though i only pay £500 for me and the missus.
Oh and try Elephant.co.uk as they have a 10 month policy for newer drivers to boost no claims discount. |

No mods on it or anything.
the value of the ford is about 6k. Hopefully quinn direct will give me a cheap quote, ive been with them now about 10 month!!!

Have you tried Direct Line Ste they were by far the cheapest when the daughter got her first car, i know it is slightly differant for lads though. |

direct line wanted over 3500 for the ford, the clio i drive now they would chagre 2700 ! maybe if i have a gender change ........... |

I know what you mean about the gender change Ste, it only cost the daughter just over a grand for her first car which was a Micra, not fair really is it mate. |

have you tried adding a named driver (someone older with afew years no claims) to your policy sounds daft but i know some people who have done this and their insurance went down alot.
