Heard today Ben Westwood of Warrington is in talks with Huddersfield for 2017. Still just a rumour until confirmation.



I get shot down a lot on these forums but I believe there could be something in this rumour. Lets keep a close eye on it.



Westwood is originally from West Yorkshire and presumably still has family there. Is he out of contract with Warrington at the end of the season?

No. Past his best and not the kind of second row forward we need anyway.

Would be outstanding in the Championship though!

I would think that at 35 we would not be interested.

Westwood would give us some grunt that we are missing. As for his age, not much older than Danny or Earl. Worth a one year not the usual long contracts for old lads.

When we talk before a game we always say our pack lacks real aggression,we could do with someone like - Ben Westwood.



If the club still think he can cut the mustard at his age,that will do for me.



His inclusion you would think,should it happen,could only result in an improvement on what we are witnessing just now.

35yr old next season? Not for me, would rather wait till close season and get someone younger. The one we should have gone for, for mongrel, was Glenn Stewart.

Agree exactly the type we are lacking in both grunt and experience and hope he pass it on the youngsters even iif just for one year.

you can't pass on grunt, you've either got it or you haven't.

Would be a terrible signing.

we will be interested in Westwood. All depends if his 007 has connections at the Club.

He's 35 this year. Hughes goes to wire with years and years in front of him. Instead we take Westwood who would be coming for one last pay day and not give a ****. It'll be like the bad old days when we signed all the old has beens who were once decent but didn't want to know hudds until they smelt the cash close to retirement like Dixon, Bentley, harmon and similar.

If this signing was made then I think it's a bad omen for the way the club is going!

On this we agree five years ago I'd have snapped him up I might just have had a punt on an 18 month contract if he came now and not on silly money but someone in the NRL will become available before the end of the season we just need our eye on the ball if we give Westwood a two year contract when we wouldn't give one to Brett Hodgson it says all we need to know !!

It's very strange someone posts a rumour from Italy and the whole forum goes into a mucksweat.

Unfortunately with all the current happenings it's a very believable post as some of our recruitment and loan signings haven't been of the greatest
