Positives - new signings all went well. I thought Hauraki went well, Garbutt started poorly but got into the game and did some big minutes. Keinhorst looked decent at times. I thought Ben crooks was excellent as well, right selection headache in the centres i think.
Negatives- Atkin at fullback doesn’t work for me, just don’t say any real benefit. Our goal line d was poor first half, better second.
Other then that, decent work out. Think Widnes should do well in championship with that pack, some big men in there and add in gelling/inu and that young FB should do better in the backs who didn’t threaten us.
I always remember Justin Morgans' view on friendlies or "trials" as they say in Aus, and that is until they give 2 points for winning these games then I will start taking them serious.
Friendlies are just an extension of training, fans shouldn't take too much out of these games, yes its good to see Rovers win, but it is just a game to get the rust off and try different things. All in all I just hope we come out of these trial games injury free, with new players getting to know calls and moves.
