Are Sky making anyone play Monday then Friday?



I'm at the Olympics on the Friday night when we're scheduled to play Wigan on the Sunday. Obviously I'm expecting that game to be moved by Sky so I'm crossing my fingers it's not the Friday and pinning my hopes on the fact we're playing Saints away on the Monday before hand.



I'm sure the club will do their best to resist it as Saints and Wigan back to back are tough enough fixtures at the best of times anyway without narrowing the gap between them, but as we all know what Sky say ultimately goes.

Mick Potter was annoyed because they played Cas on monday and then they played away at Saints on friday, so on that basis then im assuming we are going to be doing the same. its not right at all but what can we do. Sky can do what they want they dont care about the players.

Yes Bradford played Monday v Cas and then went to saints Friday and Wigan play Widnes on Monday 25 June and Bradford on Friday 29 June.

You could play Widnes and Bradford on the same day and still beat them both.

Looks like the players could be in for a very tough week and I could be missing Wigan at home then.

We're unlucky if we have a four day turnaround between Saints and Wigan, but over the course of the season for every four or five day turnaround we are likely to get an eight, nine or even ten elsewhere.

Those two back-to-back is hard enough, but maybe us doing that will stop other clubs' fans and the pundits moaning about our easy fixture at Magic Weekend. Probably not, but one can hope.

The fact is Wigan will be rubbing their hands with glee if Sky move our game with them to the Friday knowing it's a short turnaround after Saints away.



They can use their Widnes and Bradford games as a "well we've already done it so it's just tough" justification, but after being giving a wake up call by Widnes earlier in the season I think it's now safe to say Wigan will win both those games easily. It's no so straightforward for us.

Monday night games are bobbins...

Just 95,000 people watched Huddersfield v Hull KR on Monday, compared to 239,000 that watched Warrington v Leeds on Friday.

I forgot it was on

i like monday night games, much easier to swap at work to get a monday night off rather than a friday or saturday night!

purely selfish i know but... keep up the good work sky!

On Monday England v France and Ukraine v Sweden were on though. Loads of English footy fans will have stayed on the footy to see how the other two teams do in England's group. Whereas on Friday i don't think many would have been particulalry bothered about the lame duck group in the Euros.
