Any insight on how far away our first choice half backs are? Both supposed to have been close to return this weekend, but could be mind games.

Think DJ will play this week hopefully Horne too.

What do we do with Miller? Been going well the last two games, nothing spectacular but we have looked a little better.

horne has been far and away our best half this season and holdsworth is better than miller so I'd paly both Friday if fit and give them 80 minutes together before the cup semi. No point in risking either if not fully fit though

Need to keep playing Miller. The more game time he gets the better he will become. Why bring him over if he not going to be our first choice scrum half.

Totally agree with this miller has to play, with who thats anyones guess i would probs stick holdsworth at 6 and horne at 13 to replace galea, not a bad option imo

As soon as Horne and Holdsworth are fit they play for me,we've still got a lot to play for this year.Either one are better than Miller,it's that simple,maybe Miller's time will come,but not this year.

miller is an out and out scrum half, both horney and holdsworth are number 6s, would keep miller in, but nice problem to have

Holdsworth is an organizing half,the same way Paul Crooks was,it don't matter what number is on their back's.

holdsworth 13 for me, horne at six. still need our pack to be on top fri for miller, horne, and holdsworth to combine

I agree, Miller is the scrum half and should play at 7 every game barring injury. Horney and Holdsworth should fight it out for the stand off. Millers kicking game is (from what I've seen so far) better than Horne's and Miller needs game time to get where we need him to be. With every game I'm seeing an improvement and thought he played well enough yesterday to stay at 7.

I can't think of a more stupid idea than playing a SO at LF.

Do people seriously think Gentle will drop Miller

Miller is the future of the club and is a out and out 7...people have been moaning we havent had a 7 for years...we go out and get one and people say play two 6s together......On form id go with Miller and Horne...Horne was in better form than Holdsworth.

Not a case of dropping him though. We have three halves and only two can play. Which two we pick should depend on form and fitness. If Horne comes back from injury in the same form he had before then he's a no-brainer. Out of Holdsworth and Miller, DJ has the better field kicking while Miller is quicker and looks more dangerous ball in hand.

Tbf...Millers kicking was very good v Cats...id have Miller in as like you say,better with ball in hand and a lot quicker,all the attributes for a good 7.

Yeah - didn't mean that Miller has a bad kicking game at all. Just think DJ has a better one ATM. Or maybe more consistently good would be a better description.



Think Miller is going to be a great signing. All the attributes a 7 needs and very vocal as well.

Noticed that in all the games so far and he shoved someone out of the way during the match as he wanted the ball at 1st reciever.A ideal combination is Miller and DJ but (await the avalanche of derision) DJ hasnt really done it for me yet.

Miller has to play 7. if both DJ and Horney are fit then we just let Pete decide.

Miller has to keep playing IMO. He's shown some real classy touches and has had a nice kickin game. Up to Gentle who he puts next to him.

Yes, we have three halves, but only one is a scrum half. Miller will play every week, the battle will be between the two off-halves. I bet, in Galea-esque way, Gentle will give the nod to Holdsworth over Horne. I also think that if Horne returns in the same form as before, that decision will be a travesty. The irony is, I doubt Horne'll get the game time to prove if he's retained the form anyway.



Hope I'm wrong about Gentle favouring Holdsworth, but this blinkered favouring of Galea is the only niggling gripe I've got with Gentle so far, and I've a glum feeling it will extend to Holdsworth too.



Of course, on the other hand, Miller and Holdsworth will be our long term halfback pairing.

All 3 play for me, at least in the 17. Horne & Holdsworth both injury returneees. Jacob here to stay & must start at 7 whenever fit, ideally with his long term partner - PG more informed on that than us.

Not that long term. A few comments on this board recently have me wondering if people realise that Holdsworth is less than 2 years younger than Horne and will be 30 early into next season.



I'm another who'd be tempted to go with Miller & Horne this season, particularly if Miller's kicking game keeps improving. Contrary to what Jon Wilkin said, I don't honestly think Holdsworth has provided us with much composure this season (not consistently, anyway).
